Did You Hear About Kitty Karr by Crystal Smith Paul

I have so many thoughts. I liked the book, it was a fascinating read but there were some issues. The Kitty Karr aspect of the book was absolutely fascinating and Paul wove an engrossing tale of her struggles to find out exactly who she is and who she wants to be. Even knowing what happens, the reader is on edge the entire time, waiting for a shoe to drop. And Paul managed to throw in a few surprises. The frame story around Kitty is where I struggled. There was just too much to the St. John family and I never had a good sense of any of them. I understood why Paul used this device and picked one character, Elise, to narrate but maybe there could have been a little less going on with her. There were also a LOT of characters and at times, I couldn't keep track.
I really wanted to like this book but it needed maybe one more round of edits?
