One bookstagramer I follow, and love, recently posted that people need to tell us the spice level of romance novels they are reviewing which I have neglected to do. I’m borrowing a bit from their template and I will add this with book reviews on Insta as well. I’m just planning on applying this to romance novels!
So how spicy is the book? My spice levels are related to who you would recommend the book to and what tv is might correlate to:
🌶️ You would recommend your multigenerational work book club. This is Disney’s animated Beauty and The Beast.
🌶️🌶️ You would recommend it to your mom’s book club. This is The Vampire Diaries.
🌶️🌶️🌶️ You would recommend it to your non-romance reading friends. This is Game of Thrones.
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ You would recommend to your romance reading friends, they are not going to be easily shocked. This is Masters of Sex.
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ You recommend it to your friend that has read, reread, and then read again, Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty Quartet. This is The Girlfriend Experience.
So now you know how spicy the book is, but are the sexy times worth it?
🧨Meh chemistry, not sure why these two are even together.
🧨🧨 Decent chemistry, it felt a little forced and lukewarm.
🧨🧨🧨 Good chemistry, it was like a pleasant make out session with your high school crush.
🧨🧨🧨🧨 Great chemistry, good tension, the results of any build up are worth it.
🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨 Explosive chemistry, the kind that punches you in the gut. These two characters could light up the Eiffel Tower.
What did we ever do before emojis?
